From Thursday, September 26th, 2019 until Saturday, September 28th, 2019 this year’s annual event took place. The aim of the event this year was to strengthen our communication skills in the team and to get to know each other better so that we can work together even better in the future.
The event consisted of a 2-day program, which included a team-building workshop and a full-day sailing course on Lake Dümmer.
The team-building workshop
The team-building workshop on Friday in Bielefeld had many different goals. One of them was to strengthen communication in the team while taking our different personalities into account.
In the morning we were introduced to the theory of the insights discovery system. This theoretical basis was then experienced and seen in practice by each individual in the course of the day.
At lunchtime, each participant received their own preference profile, which was created based on 25 questions that each had to answer in advance. After everyone got to know their own profile, it was presented to the whole team. The aim was to make it clear to the team which skills, weaknesses and strengths, as well as dos and don’ts, make up each individual in terms of communication and cooperation.
A subsequent game should show us how communication takes place in the team. Together we should sort different images into a specific, meaningful order. Each of us got two different pictures that could only be seen by ourselves. By exchanging information about what could be seen in our own pictures, we were ultimately able to arrange the pictures correctly. It was exciting for us how differently everyone perceives individual things.

After the great workshop, we went straight to Damme to Dümmer See where we let the evening end.
ROOS IT Ahoi!
On Saturday after breakfast, we went on to a sailing school at Dümmer See. We had ideal weather conditions and were excited about our first sailing miles.
We were instructed in the basics of sailing on two sailing boats and learned how to turn and mooring on the bank directly on the water. Despite the strong wind, the tasks ahead were not a problem for us. In the end, there was a little race in the team on the lake.
After the sailing day was over, the team building event came to an end and we all started our way home.

Overall, this was a successful weekend for the whole team and we are looking forward to next year.
